Unheard Here
An Immersive Listening Trail
Unheard Here is a participatory sound project inviting visitors to rediscover Kilburn Grange Park through listening.
A site-specific immersive listening trail situated within Kilburn Grange Park, the project features four spatial sound pieces embedded across physical locations in the park accessed via QR codes, inviting visitors to physically navigate the space and discover the sonic narratives on-site.
Rooted in a participatory approach, the project invited local students from the Institute of Contemporary Music Production to discover the sound texture and conduct field recordings within the park. The artists then translated their unique ways of hearing into the compositions.
The composed pieces explore four unseen dimensions of the park (Edge, Verticality, Texture and Density), using sound and music to reconstruct spatial narratives. By anchoring these sonic chapters to the sites where their narratives unfold, the project invites visitors to rediscover familiar surroundings and reimagine their relationship with the park through listening.
