Who We Are

Hive Curates is a creative studio led by artists for artists, delivering bold, community‑embedded creative placemaking across London.

Collectively, we are a team of artists, curators and cultural producers who believe that creativity can transform the everyday; changing how people experience and connect with their surrounding environments.

We're a team of passionate thinkers, artists, curators and cultural producers. Our studio continues to evolve but have always been committed to fair pay, access and opportunity.
Some of our clients and partners include the GLA, Royal Docks Team, Haringey Council, Peabody, City of London, Eastern City BID, Enfield Council, Newham Council, Landsec, Pocket Living, Gort Scott, Creative Land Trust and the Mayor of London.

Our Story

Founded in 2019, Hive began by converting a disused industrial site into a thriving studio for intergenerational and multidisciplinary artists. Today, we champion artists from the global majority, working‑class creatives, women artists and emerging practitioners, ensuring fair pay, access to opportunities and visibility across the public realm.

We work with public bodies, architects, BIDs and developers to deliver authentic commissioning, co‑designed programmes and joyful, legacy driven public‑realm projects. Our work includes permanent public artworks, major light festivals, award‑winning murals, meanwhile spaces and cultural strategies that celebrate local identity and storytelling.

Hive Curates was founded by Chantelle Purcell and Mark Beattie and operates as both a Limited Company and a CIC dedicated to community impact.
