Hive Curates announces partnership with the new London Museum - opening 28th November 2026
Hive Curates is proud to announce its partnership with London Museum, which will be opening its doors on 28 November in the beautifully restored General Market building in Smithfield.
Hive Curates x London Museum
Hive Curates joins London Museum as a creative partner, contributing to the museum’s evolving public programme in Our Time. This collaboration builds on Hive’s long-standing commitment to championing artists, communities and cultural identity across the city.
Working alongside London Museum, Hive Curates will help shape its monthly house parties, thrown with nightclub in residence, fabric (starting February 2027).
Drawing on our experience of bringing people together, we will support the museum’s plans to create a new social space for London, a place where people can assemble and share ‘their’ London. We are excited to be working with Dhikshana Turakhia Pering, Chantel Nash, Chloe Shrimpton, Cam Christie, Chantal Makar, Louise Jesi and Katie Roberts.
Hive Curates was established in 2019, we have spent the past 7 years delivering cultural programming across London; from large‑scale festivals, high-street projects and meanwhile cultural hubs, to intimate gigs, artist studios, workshops and community‑led commissions. This moment marks a special milestone in our evolving journey as curators.
A New Cultural Home for the City
London Museum will be a space for learning, exploration and adventure. London’s communities can gather, connect and create in Our Time, the museum’s social space, where 13 eclectic installations explore London in living memory. Or dive into its permanent galleries below ground, where centuries of the city’s history are captured through objects and displays.
The museum’s first house parties will take inspiration from London Tastes (November 2026 – August 2027), guest‑edited by Ruby Tandoh and Jonathan Nunn. Acting as a thematic thread through Our Time, London Tastes will explore the changing appetites of a global food city, shaping a spotlight exhibition, regular events, as well as the museum’s café menu and shop.
For Hive Curates, this partnership represents a meaningful continuation of our work across the city, restoring cultural landmarks, supporting emerging artists, and creating spaces where Londoners can gather, celebrate and belong. We couldn’t be prouder to be working with London Museum to help shape a programme that reflects the city’s complexity, creativity, and contrast. We’re looking forward to working closely with principal sponsor Sainsbury's on a programme that invites visitors to explore London through the lens of food, and the memories and connections we make because of it.
A Museum Made for London
London Museum is a £437 million project more than a decade in the making, shaped by over 100,000 Londoners and realised through a unique partnership between London Museum, the City of London Corporation and the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. Designed by Stanton Williams and Asif Khan with conservation architects Julian Harrap, the museum is reimaging two former market buildings as a new cultural home for the city and its people.
Director Sharon Ament describes the vision:
“We asked ourselves; how can we be the best museum for London? The answer: be London itself—in all its grit and glitter.”
We hope to capture both in the monthly house parties that will launch alongside the museum’s permanent galleries in the General Market.
Entry to London Museum will be free. The adjacent Poultry Market building, housing the museum’s temporary exhibition spaces, a dedicated learning centre and a collections store, will open in 2028.
We hope to see you there!
