Background
The inaugural LUK took place from 9-25 February 2024 along Kilburn High Road. Delivered by Hive Curates in collaboration with Camden Council, the festival featured awe inspiring illuminations which lit up buildings such as the Kiln Theatre, TRAID, the Gaumont State Building and Beit Alwared Cafe. The final evening saw the community come together through a light inspired parade along the High Road which ended at Kilburn Grange Park with light installations, pop up performances and a creative night market attracting an audience of over 1000 people, providing a moment for the community to feel pride in their neighbourhood
LUK 2026
Next year, the festival will take place at Kilburn Grange Park on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February 2026 from 5-9pm. Friday 27th will also serve as a launch moment for the Council's cultural strategy. Working with the council, One Kilburn
partnership, local artists and residents, LUK2026 will be an open-air light festival celebrating the biodiversity of Kilburn Grange Park.
